How do revolving doors work? Advanced sensor monitoring

To maintain the highest security standards, the Orbix security revolving doors utilise sophisticated sensors located in the ceiling that continuously monitor every door sector. This technology prevents unauthorised passage from the opposite direction while a valid passage is in progress elsewhere. Furthermore, these access-controlled revolving doors are designed to avoid entrapment while strictly enforcing access rules through integrated rejection and alarm protocols.

Customized anti-piggybacking (APB)

The Orbix provides flexible security configurations to meet specific site requirements. Customers can choose between a basic anti-piggybacking (APB) system, which offers an excellent compromise between price and performance, or an advanced APB system designed for superior performance and higher passage flow. Both directions are electronically controllable to ensure consistent security across all entry points.

Certified safety and emergency access

Safety is a core priority for all our revolving doors, guaranteed by adjustable torque sensing and safety edges for both forward and reverse directions. In the event of a power failure or fire alarm, an inbuilt battery back-up (BBU) automatically rotates the wings to a safe position to allow escape from any sector. For additional safety, an emergency wing break-out facility and anti-panic push buttons are available as optional features.

Smart interface and operational modes

All operational parameters and functionalities are easily programmable through a user-friendly tablet interface. The Orbix also includes standard day-mode functionality, which can be selected for entry, exit, or both directions. This allows for free passage during low-risk hours while enabling the highest degree of security exactly when it is needed.

High-resistance customization

For environments requiring maximum physical protection, the Orbix can be upgraded with various resistance packages. These include burglar resistance classes RC2, RC3, and RC4 according to EN1627, as well as ballistic protection levels BR2, BR3, and BR4 according to EN1063. To further secure the premises after hours, manual or motorised external night shutters can be integrated into the design.
