Portal security doors operate using a sequentially opening gate system. Upon receiving an authorized signal, the first door opens to allow the user to step into the booth where their presence is detected; once the entry door is locked shut, the second door opens to permit passage.

This security portal technology effectively prevents tailgating and piggybacking through integrated detection systems such as NCI image analytics, ultrasound, or weight sensing. These portals are programmed to reject unauthorized use and can include a vocal synthesizer to instruct occupants to leave if more than one person is detected.

The HiGuard² range offers various dimensions to suit specific installation requirements, with passage widths ranging from 600 mm up to 1050 mm. User safety is prioritized with electronic safety features that reverse the motorized doors upon detecting an obstruction.

In the event of a power failure or fire alarm, an inbuilt battery back-up (BBU) ensures a fail-safe response, allowing users to escape safely from the interior.
